HOW IT STARTEDPlutarch Heavensbee was born the 2nd of January 25ADD, the first child and only son of Lucius and Cornelia Heavensbee. His family name alone made him an important player in the Capitol. As the heir of the Heavensbee family he would receive the very best education. Even the birth of his sister, Livia, three years after his didn’t change his father’s mind - he would follow his steps and become part of the Capitol elite. Throughout his childhood, he learned about all that spiked his interest. Even readings that Capitol children commonly do not read were made available to him. He was the golden child, although a bit too quiet at times, but his parents didn't care as his future achievements were obvious to them. His mother particularly believed in him and they became closer. In contrast, his father, who kept his role as the head of the family, would show few emotions toward his son.Plutarch quickly showed a deep interest in robotics and historical weaponry. Thus, his path to become a gamemaker created itself as his results at school proved him more than capable of reaching this goal. Attending University was no surprise. While he had become the pride of his family, his sister grew vocal about her disapproval toward the Capitol and its politics. She disagreed with the education she had received and what awaited her once she was old enough to marry. Yet, what bothered her most was Panem's society. Plutarch had listened to her ideas as they had always been close and while he had never thought about them to that extent, he understood her way of thinking. Unlike their parents. Initially, they reprimanded her. Then threatened her. Until one day, when Livia was only seventeen, she was gone.Having celebrated his birthday only a few days ago, he returned from his university lectures to an awfully quiet family home. All seemed normal: His mother was doing embroidery and his father worked, as per usual, in his office. There was a strange feeling confirmed when he got to his sister’s bedroom. Her room was empty as if no one ever lived there. All family pictures had only three Heavensbees. Her name removed from any documents. Within a single day, her seventeen years of existence were erased. He knew exactly what had happened to her. He had heard his father's threats. She had been taken away and turned into an avox. An awfully fitting punishment for someone with a loose tongue. Plutarch was a mere twenty years old, but he made a promise that day. One to his sister, even if she couldn't hear him. That very day, he promised her to become the change she had wanted to see. The very change they had whispered about so many times hidden in the dark night instead of sleeping in their beds. And he intends to keep that promise at all costs.THE REBELLIONNot everything changed in one day with one promise but his goals did. Becoming a gamemaker in his early twenties he had already become close with some avoces who would eventually become a whole network of quiet spies working for the rebellion. However, the second Quarter Quell was what stirred his ideas into motion. Haymitch Abernethy had created a new atmosphere which Plutarch intended to capitalise on. His first recruit was no other than Caesar Flickerman. A risky move that paid off when the host accepted Plutarch's offer.A rebel organisation in the heart of Panem. Together, they formed the beginning of the rebellion and slowly gathered allies in the Capitol, the twelve Districts, and contacted a supposedly destroyed thirteenth District. Over time, allies became closer friends, and Caesar turned out to have an open ear for Plutarch's concerns.

While working on the rebellion in secret, Plutarch's profession as a gamemaker brought him closer to President Snow. In 64ADD he received the greatest honor: Snow made him a head gamemaker. A sign of trust in Plutarch's abilities in gamemaking he could infiltrate Snow's closest circle. Even finding his way into the Snow family, he was often privately invited by Virgilia Snow, the President's wife, to the mansion. This trust allowed for the rebellion to easily foster over time. Yet, more developed from this connection. A flourishing romance that was as secret as the rebel network he had built. She would grow closer to his heart than he ever wanted anyone to be. By 69ADD he retired as a head gamemaker to tend to his role advising the President and retained only a small part in the Hunger Games.For Panem, he was a beloved former head gamemaker and close advisor to President Snow. Behind the scenes, a rebel network thrived. Behind the scenes, Plutarch pulled the strings of a rebellion that would soon catch fire across Panem.Of course there were doubts that his ideas would never become more than ideas. His plan needed a spark for the rebellion to work. That spark had a name: Katniss Everdeen. Her actions during the 74th Hunger Games set something into motion that he had worked on for nearly three decades. His plans finally became reality and he could fulfil the promise he had made to his sister all those years ago.He entered the control room. The team working on the arena stood up for the head gamemaker. His gaze swept through the room. Then a hint of a smile. "Let’s start.”The rebellion had officially started.
